At Neighborhood X Labs, we believe that higher education access can change outcomes. Our students deserve more than just inspiration—they deserve exposure, guidance, and real relationships with mentors who can help expand what they envision for themselves and their future.

We are building a network of mentors, tutors, and change makers dedicated to mentoring students and helping low-income, first-generation students across San Francisco access higher education, leadership opportunities, and careers that shape the future.

Mentor — Guide students one-on-one through college planning, career exploration, and personal development, enhancing higher education access for all. Teach — Support students with SAT/ACT prep, academic tutoring, essay coaching, and portfolio development, creating valuable tutoring opportunities. Connect — Share your professional world through career talks, site visits, panels, and internship pathways.

In many urban communities, students are told — directly or indirectly — that college is not for everyone. At NXL, we are committed to shifting that narrative by promoting higher education access for all. We ensure students are equipped and supported through mentoring students and providing tutoring opportunities, enabling them to see themselves in higher education spaces and careers that are shaping the future and transforming their communities.
